Hello, everyone! Happy ALMOST SUMMER! I don’t know about you, but my boys & I are SO ready for school to be done. Not a huge fan of the high temps, frizzy hair, & bug bites, but I absolutely LOVE having my dudes at home, a more relaxed schedule, & cozy evenings on the porch. Bring it on!
Anyway, here’s a look into June…I didn’t schedule quite as many classes this month. I’ve been doing some next-level, top notch, professional-grade introverting lately. I’m gonna see how long I can manage to hide before completely going broke or descending into madness. Just a fun little game I like to play with myself. Did you know May is Mental Health Awareness Month? I’ve definitely spent most of it attempting to get mine back on track.
If any of the classes seen here interest you, please contact me or the host listed on the ad to reserve your spot!
A while back I made some art for ReKlaimed Vines’ newest product: WineShine! Two of their three flavors are READY, labeled, & ON SALE NOW! How cool is THAT? Get yours from their tasting room in Huntingdon, PA or purchase online. The third bottle in the series (mango) will be fully fermented & released sooooooon!
Keep an eye out for MORE label art, & some bluebird originals popping up on the side of their building in the next few weeks!
Oh, & this is pretty cool…. I designed a logo for Million Dollar Detailing a few months ago & almost forgot about it. Then, while driving to Pittsburgh Saturday morning, my friend pointed out, “Hey! There’s your dollar guy!” Whattaya know!
Speaking of Pittsburgh… that was a good time. My besties & I spent a night in the big city, celebrating our girl Kammi’s birthday! We visited the Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress Factory & Randyland. Artist, Randy Gilson is pictured with us below. You can find even more pics in my blog about our adventure HERE!
Today I experimented with a new medium: oil based paint. Oils have always scared me but today I conquered my fear! Far from perfect, but I enjoyed losing myself in the process. Not a bad 1st attempt.
“Just like our eyes, our hearts have a way of adjusting to the darkness.”
Aaaand some more recent work…
And as you can see, Chloe the duck is still my trusty sidekick. She’s obviously outgrown her sock diapers so I had to get a little creative! I’m not much of a seamstress, but know just enough to pretend. Not too shabby, huh?
That’s pretty much it.
As always, please contact me if you’d like to schedule your own Bluebird Designs private event, fundraiser or arrange a private lesson. I have artwork for sale at Jenkies’ Joint, AC Darby Studio, Stone Town Cafe & Gallery, & ONLINE. I’ll also be at M.U.’s Ton of Bricks Festival on the 22nd. I guess I should probably start making stuff for that. Awe, crap.
Take care, friends,
Bex
