Hey there, long lost friends! I hope everyone had a pleasant pandemic! (Uhhhh… Ok, that’s probably not an appropriate greeting, but I can’t be the ONLY one who’s rusty after a YEAR of isolation!)
Since things are finally returning to normal…ish & good stuff is on the horizon, I thought it might be a good time to check in with an update on artsy-fartsy type things!
The first thing I’m going to do is shamelessly beg for you to attend THIS upcoming event…
As you can see, it’s a little different than my usual fundraisers, because the proceeds of this class will benefit ME! I did something a bit impulsive & signed up for a 4 day workshop with my favorite portrait artist in Tustin, CALIFORNIA! Even though it’s terrible timing & I can think of a billion reasons why I shouldn’t go… it just felt RIGHT. I’ll get to work with 2 of my biggest creative influences, Michael Carson (work posted below) & studio-owner, Kara Bullock (who I’ve been taking online classes with for years) expand my skill set, & see the West Coast all in one shot! It’s time to start trusting my intuition & making the most of this one little life of mine. The class is already purchased, but now I’ll need to earn the necessary funds for airfare, hotel, ubers, supplies, etc. Your support would be SO appreciated! Also… I just started a part time job! Every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 11am-7pm, you can now find me slingin’ booze at ReKlaimed Vines’ tasting room in Huntingdon! The owners were kind enough to give me their slowest days so I have time to paint between customers! (and because I’m an antisocial weirdo!) It’s a perfect fit for me! So pop in for a flight, bottle, or wine slushy next time ya pass through!
Other than that, not much else to report! My studio is finished! Zane has graduated! And I’m prepping for an art show happening next month at Gearhouse Brewing Co. in Chambersburg, PA (more details to come. Save the date 7/22/21) Hope to see you guys soon! As introverted & awkward as I may be… I’ve sure missed painting with my people!
